There are over 60 different species of kangaroo species - and not al species belong to australia. Papua New Guinea and New Zealand are both homes to these macropods.
Bet you didnt know That
Now your saying they live in trees too???
Correct - Australia has 2 main species of tree kangaroo, but they are also home to several species in Papua New Guinea.
All of Australias Tree living Macropods live in the Daintree Forest in Northern Queensland. These species have long tails and paws adept to climb. They still have pouches and raise their young with in them, and they can still hop down to the forest floor and hop about like the normal kangaroos.
Scientific name: Dendrolagus
These kangaroos are threatened by logging, dogs, and foxes. A new threat is thought to be a weed, or fruit or perhaps cat urine that is causing blindness in these already endangered animals.
