After watching Collider, your life may never feel the same again!
I've been thinking about a stop motion film project for Halloween for a few years now. Last night, I finally gave the stop motion technique a try in order to gauge the amount of frames that I might need and the amount of time it might take me to produce a one-minute film.
As it turns out...it could take a loooong time. I spent almost three hours photographing and producing Collider. Sure, some of that time was spent on creating and arranging the title graphics and editing the white balance on all of my photos (which means that I need to invest in better artificial lighting for the home studio), but I now know what will potentially be required to make my Halloween concept come to life.
In any case - I ended up with a mind-blowing video for my viewing audience to enjoy! With this first journey into stop motion animation, I'm hoping to... explode... onto the animated film scene!
So, without further ado...
COLLIDER
Film Description
Two objects colliding and exploding. Animated stop motion photography.
I used a Canon 6D for the photography and Premier Pro for post production. The video is 1080p at 24 fps and each photo is 2 frames.

I think I agree with your assessment. It is indeed a form of abstract art with many universal applications that transcends the physical world while simultaneously adding an element of mystery and wondrous intellectual contemplation in our often too-humanistic realm.
Or.....
I believe he's referencing your title "Collider", as this is an image of what happens in a particle supercollider. :)
Oh...
Now I feel stupid. Thanks a lot.
My job here is done. [dusts off hands]
Particle supercollider. Right.
Nice touch.
Better than Citizen Kane.
Hehehe, you really deserve these @ats-david!

I love cookies! How did you know?
I can tell everything from playing with someone at the tables :)
@reko works for the NSA. Confirmed.
u know it
If I tell you, I will have to kill you.
Why?
nice @ats-david you have skill to do that
keep spirit.... i wait your full stop motion
Still waiting for the climax..
Keep going! You're almost there!
Genius
I like the part where the candies collided..
You really should type "SPOILER ALERT" before you ruin this life-changing moment for millions and millions of viewers.
Millions and millions of viewers, huh? Oh man. Where do I get those? Hey, this was awesome. I LOVE stop motion. Seriously, nice job. This is pretty clean.
best 22 seconds of my life lol. I have a question, how did you crumble them?
I punched them with my fists.
They cried.
@ats-david
Haha :-) must have taken you hours. I know how time consuming this type of animation is. WELL DONE!
Not surprised it took you about 3 hours for about 3 seconds of video, stop-motion is SOOOOO time consuming. I've always been somewhat curious about playing with the concept but never pursued it due to the time involved
I could definitely see where this could really eat some time. But hey, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it didn't eat up much of my data, win win.
Very succinct! Sublime!
I am laughing so hard I can barely breathe. Something about that intense metal riff along with the video makes it amazing.
They always say stop-motion takes forever to make - but it would be sick to see more! This is rad.
Yessirree bob, stop motion takes longer than anyone can imagine. Good clean story there, though.
You inspired me to post one of my own that I hadn't shared with Steemit: https://steemit.com/photography/@improv/tears-of-a-trapezoid
Oh! "Less is more"......
That's the idea!
Very cool. My son and I did one years ago and it took an insane amount of time to get 30 secs of action!!!
Thats what you were doing last night for like 5 hours. LOL You missed some of the craziest steemspeak on record.
Well, I wouldn't really say that I "missed" it, Ob.
Even if I wasn't working on this video, I likely would not have been in the SteemSpeak channel anyway. I probably would have been playing poker on the greatest online cryptocurrency poker site in the world, Lucksacks.com - brought to you by our very own Steem Poker League: @spl !
