In the past week weather was very nice and sunny so I was outside a lot looking for opportunities with my camera. During golden hour, sun creates little pockets of light as it shifts between the buildings low on the horizon. It also reflects from the windows and walls giving a nice softbox effect.
There are multiple ways in which you can use this light - shooting subjects straight as they step into the light, getting behind them and facing towards the sun which creates interesting silhouettes, finding elevated spots to capture the long shadows, or creating halo-like lines around the subject from certain angles etc.
As you can see, I like to play with all of these ideas as well as the distance between subjects. It can be a challenge to edit these photos and not make them look straight orange so play with warmth, desaturation, hue and color replacement. This type of shots also work amazing in black and white.
Photos taken with Fuji X-Pro2 and 35mm f/2 lens.
