After seeing on the forecast that it's about to snow in the morning, I made sure to get up early, have my morning smoothie and head out downtown for a street photography session. Shooting during weather such as snow, rain, fog is always fun. It adds another layer to images, hides distracting details and gives depth.
It was early Sunday which means less people in the streets, only those who missed snow, and of course plenty of dogs having the time of their life. I quite like this minimalistic visual appeal of the winter scenery, whites and faded, dark blues, and occasional lone figure in the distance. It brings to front the feelings of solitude and finding one's place in a vast unknown world. It can be either wearisome or empowering depending on individual's state. Hope you enjoy the captures I made.
These are amazing, I love the fact that the subject is in the center of the frame for so many of them!
Haha you noticed! :D With such a clean background and not many elements, I thought center positioning would be best to balance the scene. :)
As always, @alcibiades... most of your published photos are intriquing. I particularly get drawn into those scenes of a solitary individual, making their way through life in common everyday manner. There's a kind of ghost-like feel to many of your shots...
By the way... Thank you for placing one of my recent posts within Curie's Highlights😎
Great observation, @angryman! Consciously or not, I do tend to paint the image of lone individuals, finding their way in the big world while discovering their own inner world. Glad you enjoy the photos and keep up the great work! :D
I like the first two a lot!
Among my favorites as well! :) Thanks!
Thanks, ackhoo!
