The Razorback of Great Ocean Road

This piece of seascape never fails to amaze...

I have written about and posted some photos of this place before, and am still fascinated by it

I found a few more unused shots as I was combing through my old folders and have these for you today...

It may not be the right shots for BeachWednesday (hmmm, no beach in sight, even though there must be one somewhere down there...) but just to share more of the amazing natural structures of the Great Ocean Road, Victoria, Australia!

This is The Razorback!
See why they call it that...?
It is for the sharp jagged rocky bits that stick out on top , all down the long length of this rocky structure, extending out to sea...

The view... to stand before this structure is breath-taking!
To imagine its existence which is caused by the elements, to be standing among the elements and its entire existence being destroyed by the very same elements is mind-boggling
Okey, sorry for that tongue (and mind) twister!

The wind, sea and rain shaped these limestone coastal structures and erosion by these elements wear them off at the same time
One day this piece will fall into the ocean!
Look at the textures and the layers...

I posted a different edit of this shot before... fascinating how you can witness it as it happens
Imagine being there when it finally falls...
What a splash... and sound it will make!

The trails and walk paths along the entire 243 km length of the Great Ocean Road are well maintained and offer strategic viewing points of the many iconic structures, as well as many signs such as these keep you well informed along the way
