The kiss of life

The American photographer Rocco Morabito won the Pullitzer prize in 1968 for this photograph, "The kiss of life", in the Spot Photography category.

The image shows two operators of the high tension lines, One of them, the then apprentice R. G. Champion, receives an electric discharge of 4.160 volts, suffering in consequence a heart attack. Your partner, J.D. Thompson came to his rescue, practicing the technique of mouth-to-mouth breathing to try to revive him. An ambulance picked him up later and he ended up recovering.

The photo was taken in July 1967 by Rocco Morabito, who worked for the Jacbsonville Journal. Morabito made his famous photo when he came back from covering a railroad strike. He used his radio to tell the newspaper to call an ambulance, and after doing the photo he radioed the newspaper again, which was close to the deadline to launch the day's edition, to tell them:
