UNESCO World Heritage in Incredible India (Hampi)

in #photographer8 years ago (edited)

I am a traveler and a professional photographer.
I like catching good vibes and moments, expressing them as a photography.
India, with all of it's colorfulness and authenticity, is one of my most favorite countries.
Hampi is a small village situated in northern part of Karnataka Indian state.
Many pieces of cultural history, which had been part of ancient town,
are preserved there and they belong to the list of UNESCO World Heritage now.
Hampi is one of the eldest town not only in India, but in the rest of the world.

At the beginning Hampi the kingdom of monkeys, also called as Vanaras.

Hampiis situated in place of Vijayanagara's remains, the capital of Vijayanagara Empire.
Long time ago that city was very rich.
But in the Middle Ages it was destroyed and ruined by Islamic sultans.
Muslim's attacks resulted in huge loss to Vijayanagara city.
Lots of temples and monuments were destroyed.

Hampi village is located right in the middle of that former capital and embodies main achievements of the defeated empire.

One of the most spectacular is Badavilinga temple.
It's a huge 3 meters high Shiva Lingam made of monolithic stone, resting on the water.

According to the Shiva Purana, Lingam is the cause of existence of material universe.
Lingam symbolizes masculine and feminine origins integration as it is written in philosophical scripts.
Lingam worshiping and performing Puja leads to fulfillment of wishes deeply rooted in the hearts of performers.

experts tell that traveling to Hampi is the best way to get
familiar with Indian culture and see proper Hindu temples,
while other places of India was ruled by Arabs for several centuries, and that influenced architecture.

Besides temples there is wonderful vibes and interesting people in Hampi.

There is fantastic landscapes looking like they are from some unreal world.
Hillsmade of huge granite blocks, retreat tens of kilometers far.
Some blocks are based on tiny area and it looks like they are going to fall.
While looking at this landscape some people think of moon's landscape, some think of mysticism.
For a human being it looks like he is in a fairy tale. Amazing photos are
guaranteed there.
