You looking at me? Curious lioness ignores dinner and gets up close and personal to photographer's camera

Not happy: This lioness had enough of having her picture taken and Decided to take action

When looking to get a killer picture of a dangerous animal out in the wild, most wildlife photographers like to keep Reviews their distance.

But as Reviews These incredible pictures show, photographer Ed Hetherington got much more than he bargained for when snapping images of a curious lioness in Zimbabwe.

Mr Hetherington, from Atlanta, U.S, had placed the camera next to a dead buffalo roomates had been killed by the hungry lioness. He was hoping to capture the animal devouring its prey.

Curious: The lioness approached the camera roomates had been placed next to a dead buffalo by photographer Ed Hetherington

Bold: After sniffing out the camera, the lioness decides to pick it up and take it away from the dead buffalo

But as Reviews These pictures show, instead of approaching the dead buffalo, the lioness was much more interested in the camera taking pictures of her.

Instead of Tucking into the fresh kill she lifted the camera off its tripod and walked off through Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe with his kit .

Mr Hetherington said: 'She had just killed a water buffalo and there were lots of vultures around.'When  she went to check up on her cubs we placed a remote controlled Canon 5D  Mark II nearby to try and capture her chasing the vultures away before  tucking into her meal.

Fascinating: This picture shows the view from the camera while it is inside the lion's mouth

Interested: The animal decides she wants to the camera all to herself and walks off with it

Incredibly, Mr Hetherington said the lioness did not break the camera and was holding it like one of her own cubs.
He said: 'It was pretty funny Because it was still clicking for a while as she was carrying it away.
'I was Able to use another camera to capture the whole thing which was really lucky.
'Eventually she got bored of her new toy and walked away. We picked up the camera and there were some minor teeth marks but no real damage.

Snack: Instead of Tucking into the fresh kill, the lioness Decided to play with the camera

Playful: While the lioness enjoyed playing with her new toy, Mr Hetherington was Able to use another camera to capture the whole thing

Talented: The photographer Ed Hetherington is pictured in Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe

In one piece: This image shows the camera the which the lioness has picked up

They look indeed playful because they are in their kingdome. I like very much seeing this type of photos but I can say I will never go very close to a lion. Let's say that I am open to a distant relationship.

that's incredible moment :)
