Iguanas are large lizards that look like something from "Jurassic Park". There are over 300 species living in the world today. Three species live in Florida. Only problem is they are not suppose to be here. They were brought here to be sold as exotic pets from other parts of the world.
Some unwanted ones were let go and the rest is history. Some Iguanas can grow to six feet in length and have no natural predators here
If you leave them alone they will not bother you, but if feel threatened they could bite.
Experts believe there are hundreds of thousands of iguanas living South of Orlando today.
They can live up to 20 years and lay up to 50 eggs at a time.
They only enemy is very cold weather. With Winters seemingly getting warmer, these invasive species could become a native species.
