My City dances in rain and rejoices in spring, and up there from the Hill I lived in what I just claimed of. Ranchi is the next city, the city situated in the Chota Nagpur Plateau. Ranchi is not a big city with huge malls and wide roads, but it is certainly not to be underestimated for such grounds of development, my city is still green and a beautiful hill station less known about.

These lines are from “Gitanjali”, the famous work of Noble Laureate Rabindranath Tagore. Few verses of the book were written at the same place I stand at, Tagore Hill. Tagore Hill is a place in the heart of the state capital. It all started in 1908 when Jyotindranath Tagore, the elder brother of Rabindranath Tagore built Shantidham, a house on the hill. Rabindranath Tagore later came to this place and lived here for a brief interval of time during which he wrote several of the poems. From this place, when the sun sets in the city sky with its redness restored, allowing the evening to gradually pass, the scenic beauty surpasses all the charm and the beauty of the nature comes alive to its hues. The rain coming on your face will give you the clearest vision to absorb my own land with your eyes. The rain drops will welcome you to this land of Waterfalls, Everyday,Always!”
