Arashiyama is located in the northwest direction of Kyoto City, and is a popular area that most people who visit Kyoto for sightseeing have on their agenda. The biggest reason for its popularity is the beautiful scenery that changes expressions with the seasons-spring, summer, fall, and winter.
This photo was taken last Spring when I visited Japan and it's my favourite photo because it was a place which I stumbled upon. I had done all the other sightseeing in Arashiyama and was tired from all the walking and so I searched for a place to get some rest. That's when I stumbled upon this pond and just staring at it and the fish that swam around inside it was so calming. One of my favourite memories of Japan!

This Japanese landscape is so very picturesque @peterkkim The glorious colours of nature are so well presented in this beautifully captured image.
Thanks for your comment!
I think Japan is so good at developing sites like this and I love looking for them!
The colours and the plant and animal life all coexist so peacefully.
You're very welcome @peterkkim I'm new to this site and really enjoying people from all over the world. It is great to meet you also and discover that you live in Australia too. Which part of Aussie do you live in?
I'm from Sydney!
Which part of Australia are you from?
Welcome to Steemit and I hope you have a wonderful time here!
I live on the Redcliffe Peninsula which is an hour north of Brisbane @peterkkim It is a beautiful part of Queensland. Have you been up this way? My husband and I were in Sydney just before Christmas . We took a cruise from Sydney to Hobart and visited Adelaide (for the first time) and Melbourne on the way back. I think Sydney Harbour is one of the most attractive ones in the world. Thanks so much for your kind comments and I hope your Steemit journey will be a wonderful and rewarding one for you.
I've been to Cairns and the Gold Coast but nowhere in between, I'll be sure to explore more of Queensland when I get back!
Sounds like you had an awesome trip around Australia, just need to visit Perth now for you :)
I agree, after living there for so many years, it can't say I'm sick of the area.
Your welcome and the same back to you :)
I highly recommend you do visit more of Queensland when you get the chance @petrekkim If you like the heat, any time of the year is ok . I prefer the months between April and September especially when doing outdoor photography. Thank you for your kind wishes.
Hey!! I'm off to Arashiyama right now bro. Just take a look at this madly beautiful pond.. Wonders of God's creation
I'm 100% sure you'll love it!
Make sure to look at every nook and cranny because everywhere is wonderful :)
It's really amazing, what a cool place. I love that the colours in the threes goes so well with the colours of the fishes.
You're right!
There's so much harmony in this photo, I couldn't take my eyes off it!
Extremely nice how you brought the colors of the trees and esp. the fishes onto the picture.
Thanks for your comment!
I tried to capture it as best as possible since it was so magical :)
That is a stunning picture! Thank you for entering my competition, your entry is accepted. Good luck!

Great post!
I went to the monkey park as well when I was there. The monkeys were pretty scary to look at if you happened to lock eyes with them and they tried to steal my stuff!
