Obviously we didn't ACTUALLY go to space...although that would be cool.
But today we DID visit the Kennedy Space Center. It was an early birthday present for my husband, who has always had a bit of the "I want to be an astronaut" thing going, and we had great fun. The experience was fantastic, especially seeing things like the Saturn V and the Atlantis. Or the scarred and torn piece of the Challenger. And personally, I've always really loved the Hubble Telescope, so seeing the Hubble model was cool for me.
It was a great day, especially for a space geek.

Thanks so much!
I've always wanted to be in one of this suits, so sad we have none in Africa. Is it expensive to get in there?

The Kennedy Space Center is about $60 per adult to get in. Well worth it.
Definitely

Awesome.
Great pictures. It must be quite an exciting experience to see all these historical items.
Even with all the controversies and conspiracy theories surrouding the space race, there is no question about the merit of all the scientific and human talent invested in these projects and the collateral benefits that have derived from their research and achievements.
I had the chance to visit the Air Museum in Ohio. It was an unforgetable tour.
Funny thing about pictures 4 and 5: combined, they make a funny monster. :)
Ha ha, I totally see the monster, that's hilarious!
Being in that place with all of those monuments of human ingenuity and amazing spacecraft would be for sure amazing, all the pictures are beautiful, each one of them has a unique personality, I wish someday I can go there and see it with my own eyes! Thanks for sharing!
