This colorful deep red sandstone has been decorated by nature with colorful patches of Lichen. Which is a slow growing plant that attaches itself to the rock where it continues to grow and branch out. I will reveal the location of the photo tomorrow when I show the bigger picture.

It looks like water runs on those rocks. But it looks great!
They just get wet when it rains but areas in the shade stay wet a lot longer also the sandstone is porous and absorbs water. Thank you!

I love licen shots, I have another that I am going to be posting also one of theses days, hopefully soon. It is so cool how the little plants can grow in and on the rocks, I also like it when the rocks get patches of moss growing on them. I have not found a good one of those to take a shot of yet, but still keep looking.
I agree and would like to see your photo. Sometimes the lichen has some amazing colors especially when wet. Fun to photograph, I hope you find a good one.
