Seems everyone is having a blast at Steemfest. I would have loved to have made it over there but it was not possible with the commitments I have at the moment. In the mean time winter has arrived here and there is a fair bit of snow coming down with night time lows regularly below -10 C (14F). Here is a shot of some fresh white stuff coming down over a wild bighorn sheep. You wonder what goes through their minds as winter approaches. The bighorn sheep are one of the few animals that come together to survive the harsh winter roaming in mixed herds of males and females. The rams then segregate themselves for the summer.
The horns of bighorn sheep (ovis canadensis) rams can weigh up to 14 kg (30 lb), while the sheep themselves weigh up to 140 kg (300 lb) . This is about one and a half times as large as a domestic sheep. Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. Shot taken at 400mm with 1/400s shutter time at f6.3 and ISO 200 using a Canon 6D mkII.
Do people like it to see the specs on the shots ? I was asked if I could provide it yesterday, and I used to do it regularly, but no one really seemed that interested previously.

Thanks mate.
What a great portrait! So crisp and the snow falling. Lovely.
Thanks Sara !
Great shot. It has been years seen I have seen a big horn sheep. In the Colorado Rockies. I am interested but not knowledgeable in specs on shots. Perhaps it would help others learn
Thanks. Re specs if people think it is useful I can include them.
Wild animals always seem to be huge compared to their domestic counterparts XD I remember when I was younger always thinking these were goats because I was used to woolly domesticated sheep XD
I think with tech specs some people just like looking at them and possibly silently learning if they're not commenting/asking you about them directly. Or at least that's what I do when people include specs on 3d renders if I don't feel inclined to ask how they got away with so few polygons or why a straight sword blade is comprised of several million :D
Thank. They are much bigger than you expect them to be when you see them. I would not want one to charge at you. I think you are right about the specs.; perhaps I have just been a bit lazy to not include them.
Wow !!! I like this picture. It made me feel cooler in Thailand. thanks for sharing.
Thanks. Which part of Thailand are you from ? I just put a Thailand post up yesterday.

Brr, it's starting to look a big cold up there!
Yes. Full respect to these animals which don’t hibernate for the winter and just tough it out at -35 C
It looks like you travel A LOT Robert. 👍 Where are you right now? 😊
