We crossed what seemed like endless tropical savanna for days on end to come to Boodjamulla (Lawn Hill) National Park in the remote north-west highlands in the gulf country of Queensland. I took this shot at first light over the Lawn Hill Gorge. A rich oasis of tropical vegetation the sandstone gorge has been carved out over eons by Lawn Hill Creek which flows all year and is fed by numerous freshwater springs from the limestone plateau to the west. We stayed here for five nights, amazing experience to kayak along the gorge to the upper waterfalls.
