Eerie light late yesterday afternoon at Ness Lake. Some super dense smoke came over at about 6pm, and for a time the whole world glowed orange. The light lasted like this for about 45 minutes then when back to the gray smokey haze that we have been accustomed too over this past couple of weeks. It seems we are heading into a repeat of last year and the B.C. government has declared a state of emergency. No end in sight for the wildfire season here in BC with over 560 wildfires burning in the province and nearly 80 evacuation orders and alerts in place affecting more than 21,000 people.
I have made minimal edits to this shot and have not changed the hue or applied any colour cast or filter. Here is hoping for some rain. Shot taken in Northern British Columbia, Canada

Wow!
It looks nice but you don't want to breathe the air!
This is so crazy! So much glow. Resteemed.
Thanks guys!
Great shot, the smoke here on Vancouver Island is pretty bad too. It get really dark with out a moon and the stars.
Yes; I hope we get some rain soon or I will miss the whole milky way season !
Amazing shot from some awful circumstances. Here's hoping the devastation ends soon.
Thanks ; the air is terrible to breathe but it makes for a nice photo ;-)
Wow! Looks like some Star Trek world. Great shot. Resteemed.

I live in Saskatchewan and we experienced that same orange sky from the B.C. fires. Erie! In fact I thought when you said Ness lake you were talking about a lake close by. One thing the crazy light has been good for is photography. I went out and snapped a few pictures.
Wow all the way to Saskatchewan!
Yes it's crazy! We haven't had clear skies for quite a while now. There is always some sort of haze blocking the sun (good in the way it is keeping the heat down) but the other day when the smoke just rolled in and the sky turned orange was eerie!
I've done some fire shots and the color looks just like this... and I love it!!
No fun to breath the air however ! Getting a bit sick of it.
wow! there's no a bad pic in your blog :) pretty congrats and best regards!
