Roses in the dark.
A set of 3 roses caught my attention and I set out to light them during the night. Not with a set idea of what the image shall look like I started playing around with my scanner and the camera.
How did I get the featured image?
The camera was set to F22 at ISO 100 and the lens was open for 13 seconds all in all. Single exposure no dancy photoshop. But there is of course more than just hitting the button.
So this is what the first test lighting looked like. That was easy. Now I wanted some more features with kind of Light Painting, with a little more than just dramatic light. That was too easy.
Brush them once and then shed the light on them and move it. You see the first image has 3 roses. After moving it around the rose on the right side fell off. No worries, Mom did not find out yet. I am safe.
But you can now see the evolution of how I got to the main shot. Also, you can see it is not a composite it is the 3-step interaction to practice every step to do it right in the final single exposure.
I really hope you liked what you saw and this was informative and maybe also inspirational. If you have more questions please do not hesitate. I am happy to share my knowledge.
