Are you a mountain person?
I am. I relish seeing these peaks soar high above me, their heights catching the first light of the sun, wrinkled faces wise with advance knowledge of the coming day. If a road leads into the mountains I will take it, camera by my side, ready for any moment that may come my way.
Mountains can be scary, and lonely, but they draw with an invisible force and keep you there with their beauty and feeling of being alive. I'm never glad to leave them behind.
These mountains are the Sierra Nevada (in California), and I loved the way they caught the light of the rising sun.

Not too far from Bishop! It's closer to Mammoth though. :)

Hehe, there's definitely snow in parts of California. I've only been there once, but I saw a bit of snow in Yosemite, around Tahoe and then here on the eastern side of the Sierras.

The yellow stripes on the road are almost the same tones as the yellow on the snowy mountains... Really makes for a balanced image.
