Storm Emma
It's being an age since I've had any spare time to work on shoots, or indeed post any content here on Steemit, so the arrival of "Storm Emma" this morning means I get the day off work, and some rare hours to myself to work on images.
It was also the 2nd time an Emma arrived at my house this week as I had the pleasure of working with model Emma last Sunday. I still haven't had a chance to edit or post-process any of these, but I was so happy with the results I'm going to show a straight from camera preview here. I'm really hoping a magazine editor from the 1980's will like this style ;)
Really looking forward to working on these. I shot only a fraction of what I'd normally shoot during a model session, but I've never gotten so many keepers from one shoot before.

Beautiful shot dude. How did you light it? Btw the full screen version doesn't seem to open when I click on it. Could just be my browser though.
Thanks Dave! Let's see, it was a large softbox camera right but feathered all the way back so it was pointing more at camera than model. Hair light up high and behind but on very low power. Then a speedlight at the back to send some rays through the holes in the back panel. My living room is tiny so all the lights were close. Cheers for the heads up about the full screen, I can never seem to get that to work correctly :\
Screaming color @colmedwardsphoto, quite appropriate to a "Storm Emma" title :)
Yep it's a touch on the red side @lighteye ;) Glad there were no bulls around lol
What's your take on that Fujifilm X-T2, @colmedwardsphoto?
I love the idea of the X-T2 @lighteye. For street photography, they're a beautiful camera, and the fuji lenses are works of art, but I'm afraid it has a tendency to let me down when I really need it (e.g. first dance at a wedding in dim light). I also find the autofocus can be very hit and miss - manual focus with fuji lenses is almost pointless. Personally I'm toying with the idea of trading in for a 2nd hand Sony a9. Do you use fuji yourself?
Yes, @colmedwardsphoto, X-T20. Autofocus isn't worse than my old Canon 60D, but almost everything else (except the battery life) is much better. This was shot at very low light levels:

I guess it depends with what do you compare Fuji. I've found that “old style” direct controls are indispensable for me.
Oh yes, I forgot to mention battery life in my first reply! That's a huge problem at weddings. Not so much the 10 seconds it takes to change one, but the fact that the battery indicator isn't precise. I fully agree with you about the control dials too, they're a dream...dslr's almost seem clunky and awkward now the rare time I use them.
Just be sure that you use new and original NP-W126S. It is solved.
Nicely done! Re-steemed!
Cheers matey.
wow, nice! Love the colours and it is not too photoshoped, it s all natural. The make up artist is very good! But from where are coming the list from the back, the little ones? I m curious 😁
Hi @laviniatherapist, thank you very much :D For the little lights at the back, I drilled holes in the wood and pointed a speedlight at them. A little bit of fog machine helps to catch the light rays. Hope that answers your question :)
Smart write up as always ;)
Quality standards are hard to keep up to when you are posting :)
