Infrared landscape

in #photocirle7 years ago (edited)

About 2 months ago I seen a post from @raoul.poenar were he was using a infrared filter. After seeing his photos it inspired me to give it try. I have struggled with this filter and shortly after @photomatic started their discord channel I was able to ask @raoul.poenar some questions which helped out a lot.

One thing I have found on steemit that I didn't expect when I joined, is that a lot of the people that I have talked to genuinely like to help others. I found this not only in the photographers here but with all aspects of steemit. When I first started I joined the minnow booster discord channel and noticed @furious-one answering the same beginner questions over and over. A person doesn't do that unless they enjoy helping others.

It would be impossible to mention everyone and I am sure I would forget someone but for all those that have helped me along the way I would like to say, Thank You!

So glad I could help! Great image you've got here, love it! :)

Thanks for the compliment.

We had few days of bright sunlight last week and that filter had me going out during my lunch break to take photos, I would have normally avoided that time of day for photography. Still a weird experience to take a 30 second exposure when it's so bright outside.

Yeah, this filter contradicts everything that you have been told not to do in photography. You get the best images when the light is unsuitable for any other type of photography. You should definitely try it again once the foliage of the trees appears.

I will definitely be trying it again as the light gets better.

Does your filter cause vignetting? Mine has harse line around the center of the image that I have to fight with. I had bought a cheaper one because at first I wasn't sure at first if I was going to enjoy it.

I've never tried the infrared filter, but it intrigues me for a long time.
I was thinking of buying a Hoya ...
Nice shot I like it !!

Next time I buy a filter I am going to give Hoya a try. They seem to have good reviews.

Thanks for the compliment.

I just wanted to drop in and say hello! I found you via your post to steemit world map, and wanted to reach out to a Steemian in my home state! I grew up in Harrison, but currently in SW MO.
Following you now! :)

Nice to meet you @jazzyfish. I have friends that recently moved near Springfield MO. I have had plans to go visit them just haven't made the trip yet.

Arkansas is so much prettier. I miss being a 10 minute drive from a swimming hole at any given moment. There's not much to look at around here. Only slightly more bumpy than Kansas. lol

There is a pretty big group of Steemians up here, though, and just last week, @sykochica, @papa-pepper, @instructor2121, @jonny-clearwater @liberty-minded came to visit. We get the occasional Steemit traveler. :)

Well thats cool that you guys have so many steemians coming through there.

Arkansas does have a lot of stuff to do like that. A lot of people that move away end up missing it.

Beautiful photography!
