Good Morning Steem,

I thought today I’d share with something I don’t do a lot of personally, but it is hugely fun and a challenge too.....light painting cars.

Although the two images are of the same subject, they are approached in different ways.

The first photograph is shot using a diffused soft box with a torch inside, you light each panel and part of the car separately, and take a single frame for each part, then you combine the parts of the car that are lit in photoshop to create a similar shot, with lovely diffused light over the whole car, you can even add touches of colour like I’ve done here with the orange and the wire wool sparks (set off at a very safe distance behind for anyone that was wondering )

The second photograph is shot using the Olympus Micro Four Thirds system using their Live View Mode.

This effectively let’s you see the image being built up as you light in the parts of the car on the back of the screen.

This is really useful if you make any mistakes as you can see them straight away and allows you to capture the whole photograph in one go rather than using Photoshop, if you don’t want to.

Both offer different approaches to the same situation and I hope that possibly you’ll feel inspired to try it and give it a go yourself.

It’s a lot of fun and a great way to grab an unusual image of something we see and use everyday in our lives :)

If you’d like to see more of this kind of light art on Steem, then please head over to @lightpaintershub and give them a follow.

Really cool mate. Just the right amount of wool here, works a treat.
