I'm giving it a go! Brand new here to Steemit, and especially photo contests. 'Twas a bit of a learning curve to figure out how to enter but I think I've got it down so I will be submitting a ton of times just to get some of my work out there and to train my muscles how to think about entering. It's like working out, but for my brain.
If for some reason it looks like I've done something wrong, I would not be opposed to some constructive criticism to learn how to do this better and become a part of the community.
Until then, here's one of my submissions for #photochaincommunity, can't wait to see how everyone does!
I made a new friend in Arusha, Tanzania last time I was there. Walking around town I saw a person with a camera...and he wasn't a tourist! I just had to chat with him and that turned into a nice friendship with whom I still keep in touch today. One of the fun things we did was he accompanied me around town and we did some actual street photography, something I'd been a little hesitant to try myself. We came across this youth here in a run down section behind a market. I was about to go deeper in but when my guide/new friend said we probably shouldn't...I listened. It's easy to get comfortable and be a bit naive but it's smart to keep your wits about you.
