I had walked past St marks Place many a time on my morning walks, but only after @bozz mentioned to me he loved that street and area I had to make my way to it and walk down it and get some shots, enough for a couple of posts, but I thought this shot of the Hot Dog with a bit of vibrant editing would make a cool shot to enter this contest

To give you an idea of where it was, here is a shot of the Crif Dogs shop, it wasn't open at the time so I cannot tell you how their hot dogs are, If it had been iopen I would surely have been tempted to try one, but it is just one of the many cool buildings along St Marks Place.

@photocircle TeamOmg!! I love that place. I saw it on TV once on Anthony Bourdains show the layover. It's a little small but the dogs are killer!! There is a phone booth that you enter and it leads you to a speak easy. Check it out next time you can.
I really like the colors!
Thanks I was in a vibrant colorful mood when I edited this
Great color contrast. Following.
I love watching those American food shows makes me want to go on an eating tour of the states
Posted using Partiko iOS
I love them also, it is like torturing ourselves since we seldom eat out these days due to my wife's dietary restrictions
Very nice! Awesome shots. I am glad that you enjoyed it and got a lot of photos from that area.
Ohh yeah it was a cool walk I think I will have two or three posts I can do from here, it may even be my Wednesday Walk post for this week, not sure yet picking which walk to use tonight
PS a SBI share will be coming your way soon for last weeks Wednesday Walk
Thank you so much!
Very nice. Always enjoy your photography @tattoodjay
Hah that's great - even the colors of the buildings compliment that excellent signage :)
Yeah it such an eye catching place, but this street was cool for so many interesting places
Love the columns and colors on the building behind the sign. Great photo @tattoodjay
thanks it was such an eye catching building, there was so much to see on this one short street
The Grif dog building .. last photo reminds me of the building in "Moonstruck" I love the old movies. A lot of them were set in NY.
NYC sure has some real cool buildings
so cute! Your walks must make you smile on a daily basis, so much to see! :)
That's a pretty big weiner lmao
Ohh yeah and hard to miss
Looks like a hot dog stuffing.....pretty hanging 9ne..👌
If this sign had been submitted by you back when I ran the Daily Dose Sign contest it would have been in strong contention for first place. I really like this sign.
It should do well in that contest you have entered it in, it is colorful on a couple different levels.
It sort of reminds me of a bumper sticker that I designed several years ago when I was involved with a campaign against drunk driving.
The bumper sticker read; "0.00% says, "Blow me." obviously referring to a breathalyzer test, but a good play on words, much like the "eat me" sign.
@sultnpapper LOL that must have been such a cool Bumper sticker
Thanks :)
I think they are still available on the internet at a print shop called Zazzle. If I remember right it was something like www.zazzle.com/nothanksimdriving , I had several bumper stickers and shirts that you could purchase. Never sold a whole bunch of them, but some.I did give away quite a few that were just promoting the initiative which parents found very useful. It just was a simple , "No thanks. I'm driving."
But having on the back window or bumper of the car served as a reminder to the young teenage drivers that they shouldn't drink and drive. It gave them the words to use when they were offered a drink and they knew they would be driving.
A lot of other catchy slogans and sayings as well on the ones for sale.
I think my all time favorite was the one that read, "There is only one thing worse than a drunk driver, the lawyers that defend them."
@sultnpapper I took a look some real cool designs
And yes that one gave me a chuckle but sadly its not funny it is so true
Yes Jay, it really isn't funny but it is true as far as I am concerned. I wish I had been able to keep that going with the No Thanks. I'm Driving. initiative, there was a professor from Harvard that contacted me when I had it up and running. He had brought the idea of designated drivers from I think Sweden or Finland here to the USA, and he liked the concept and message and said he would try and help get funding to keep it going but it didn't work out. I finally had to let it go as I was spending way to much time and money trying to help others resist the temptation of drinking and driving.
The reason I started it was because I had recently, at the time, lost a couple real close friends to drunk drivers.
I may go back to it at some point in my life, but its on hold for now.
