My fiance and I were heading south on vacation to the Florida Keys from Ohio (Long Drive) and I decided to take a slight detour southeast about an hour out of the way so that I could take one of our drones up and possibly capture some pictures. (We brought two with us and a baby pocket drone but that is a story for another day and time ^ ^ )
On the Western side of the Smokies heading south I found a nice little body of water and decided to stop on the side of the road, take flight and hover over it for the perfect shot.
There was a nice little quiet town just over the other side of "Indian Mount/Mound". (Forgive me I do not know the towns name I just flew within view range but I remember something similar to this name on the sign at the rest area I took flight from..
I will be posting some photos of my trip back north where I took off from the Great Smokey Mountain and took pictures of Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge + Surrounding Area but for now I hope you enjoy these pictures of Nature as much as I enjoyed taking them!
P.S Sorry about the fish-eye lens but it is EXTREMELY risky to change it out and the gimbal will cost $300 to replace if I make any mistakes but give me time. I have plans when I find time to sit down with the precision tool set and see if i can't get it accomplished.
pretty nice 👍😊
Thank you and you yourself have some pretty nice pictures as well. Looks like a very nice quite living. I glanced through at the pictures of the chickens and the "tiger" ^ ^. I did not completely understand what kind of knife you said that it was but you created a knife to carve out handles for your hammers? Very nice! I am used to a city life (born and raised) but have spent about 5-6 years living in the mountains of southern Virginia and there is a certain calm that I miss from the quiet lifestyle. Thank you once again for your comment on my photos and you take care!
I really like these pictures! Thanks for sharing....hey, do you have a Flickr account by chance? I do....if you wanna look at it, you are welcome to. I have not added much to it lately though.....but I'm about to, very soon, you inspired me. lol
Thanks 😊👍I made drawknife is a traditional woodworking hand tool used to shape wood by removing shavings. I like to make stuff 🔨 Countryside life for me is the best way. All the best 😊
Yes, I agree
Very nice shots, wonder what kind of drone was used....
Thank You, it was a Xiro Explorer V (a.k.a DJI Mavic Killer). It has some limitations to it but I created a "Cantenna" which can extend the wifi range up to almost 4miles in clear (not alot of radio) areas that works even better in high places or when aimed at the sky. It was a bootlegged project that I created with spare USB repeaters and an old Direct TV sat Dish but the performance you recieve from it on extending range is top notch and it only requires 5volts of power to function (USB 3.0 from a laptop will suffice) See Pictures Below
(Yes it is mounted to a chair lol) but the can apparatus worked pefectly when angled in the corner of the bed of my truck and aimed towards the sky. (Anykind of reflective metal to send the entire signal in a specific direction will work and it spreads out in a cone shape). The drone has a height limitation of 600ft that can be overridden (careful... this is illegal) by reaching your maximum height then holding throttle up/acend while pressing "Retun to home" key and you can reach a maximum height of about 1600 feet when needed to get over a mountain ^ ^. (The override works because when you press return to home the drone is allowed to do anything necessary to bring it home and no failsafes built into the software are in effect but it also accepts commands from its remote during this so you get to temporarily turn the 600 ft height limit off while telling it to go up higher.. once you are above 600ft just switch off return to home and soar free as a bird ^ ^)
Hey, what kind of drone do you have/use for these types of shots?
Xiro Explorer V (DJI Mavic Killer and the best bang for your buck ^ ^) I have not done so yet but you could make some pretty extreme modifications to this thing. See Picture below It is one of the two "X Shaped" Drones. I am trying to find a better picture but it will give you an idea of it from a top view"
P.S This is my "Squadron" ^ ^
