I'm so new to Steem, and don't spend much time here, so I was not aware of the team[country] dynamic. In theory, I am interested in becoming a member (I love this country and believe in it), but it will take me a while to wrap my head around chat channels etc. I do, however, also very much consider myself a citizen of the Planet, and don't subscribe to nationalist agendas. If this initiative is a friendly way to generate a community connecting around a common heritage in order to foster international, intersectional collaboration, then I am all for it : )

I'll PM you on the discord channel as soon as I've got some time to figure out the new interface (I'm a little swamped with work at the moment). In the meantime, I will follow the @teamsouthafrica page.
