Rugova Mountains are located in the north-western part of Kosovo. Rugova Mountains are ranked instead of four in winter sports by the International Ski Federation. People here also walk in nature, dealing with mountaineering, and organize picnics in nature. Rugova has many caves, waterfalls, glacial lakes, high peaks and tunnels. The highest peak is Hajla (2403 m), then Volujaku which is almost as high.
Rugova is 93 km away from Pristina (the capital of Kosovo). It includes an area of 20 330 hectares. The river crosses the mountain in half, creating in this way the valley and gorge. 85% of the territory is covered by forests, 15% is the lawn. The terrain is rich with limestone and stone bluff slopes and deep ravines, narrow and erosion. Sites are mountain with a slope of 15 ° -30 ° but occasionally they reach 45 ° -90 °. The terrain is composed of various karst forms such as numerous caves and natural tunnels, waterfalls, glacial lakes etc.
