I am one of said friends on slack that inspired this post. On slack I am regularly called "the semantic police" because I think the meanings of words in discussions / debates is very important. The words you use can have emotional backing. When you select a word like "organic" that implicitly has a positive meaning behind it to further your argument you are really just doing nothing more than muddying the waters.
I constantly have debates with a friend of mine concerning the terms "good" and "evil", which he defines as "what is done by and of God is good, what is not is evil". So he tries to pull me into these debates and tries to get me to use these words, and then uses that as proof that his god exists.
This is just a semantic word play argument, and while he may walk away with a sense of satisfaction, really his argument went nowhere.
And you say you can't write. This would be a great blog post if you expanded it and grabbed some giphy images (which I know you are very good at)... simply cite the source as giphy.com and you're golden.
