RE: Emotions Often Win Over Reason, Feeling-Good Can Matter More than Facts

in #philosophy6 years ago

great post!
Like this theme very much, read a lot about it.

do you think the decision made by the heart and by the soul is the same?
Heart is our emotions, and what about soul? I mean, intuition?
Do you distiguish it to the 3rd side or not?

I think our emotions depend from soul reply directly. If we feel soul discomfort, we will feel negative emotions about the problem or event, and it means intuition says "no", so it's better for us to stay far from the case or people.

Do you agree?

Sort:

"Heart", "soul", is just a part of consciousness, "mind", it's all us, but we use words to describe different components. If heart = emotion, then yes, all decisions are made by emotion as it underlies all our valuations. "Soul" includes emotion, and everything about us. Sometimes emotions can be manipulated into us, so following emotional states alone or intuition, is not the best way to go about it, but it is often reliable. Someone can tell you a truth that makes you feel bad, then in that case you "stay far from the case" as you say, but it's the truth, so instead of going away from it, you should accept it ;)
