Are there really only 5 senses?

Recently I have been feeling captured and incarcerated by my own senses; Am I missing out on a sense that I can't Imagine and can't possess?

Let me explain.

How would you explain to a birth-on blind man what a color is, what it is like to see? You can't use terms that describe the visual world, because the blind man cannot associate anything sensible to the terms that have to do with it. Or can he? Well, you could at least try to associate other senses with terms used to describe the visual world. You give the blind man a hot pepper and you will tell him that spicy foods are often red; You can let him touch grass and let him know that it is always green. But will the man ever see red or green? Never.

I've never heard or seen anybody outlining this theory, but I believe that there is a chance that we could theoretically possess an infinite amount of senses. Take the example of the blind man; Since you can't explain what seeing is, he has absolutely no idea what it would be like for him to see and there is no chance that he ever will. In that case, it is very possible that there exist - to us unimaginable - senses, that would completely change how we interpreted the world and the universe.

On the one hand, I cannot imagine any other sense than I possess, which makes me think I'm missing out on a lot. On the other hand, I am happy with the senses I already possess because I have never known anything else.
