Lately they are like the BLOB in the movie blob... consuming and getting bigger and bigger... and oblivious to anything but eating more and getting bigger.

Have you tried Steemit.chat lately?
Nope. Not in awhile. I may have jumped on a week or so ago. Maybe longer. I'll sometimes go onto steemspeak as well as it has a good chat service, actually better than steemit.chat I think. You can also go into one of the voice channels if you want, but that is not required.
But... I pretty much go to chat if I see a message in email that someone messaged me. I find it far too distracting. :)
I can't get it to boot up... something about the connection being changed!
I vaguely remember someone saying something about it in a post the other day. I am pretty sure people setup a discord server (same software steemspeak uses) for chat. Seems like it was a @steemcleaners post.
