RE: What we gain when we worry

in #philosophy7 years ago

I agree and love the quote from Corrie Ten Boom. She would know about worry as she and her family were victims of the Holocaust and yet she placed all her faith and worries with God and that carried her through. Now, it doesn't always have to be a religious argument or preference that carries us thru daily life. For me it is. But I think anyone can acknowledge that they have no control over everyday life's events and never will have that kind of control. For some that is terrifying and they spend their whole lives trying to control control control....but I find it very empowering t acknowledge there is no control in the absolute sense and that I don't have to or need to be in total control. When I think like that I find a huge sense of relief and calm. Life is supposed to be an adventure with ups and downs. We learn and grow from them. Don't supress that. It's a vital part of being human and maturing.
