That sounds really condescending. And it doesn't really help me at all, but thanks anyways.
condescending? but why? It's a simple thing that anyone can do. Have you tried it?
In regards to the question I was asking about how to help wake up brainwashed people, and it seems like you imply I'm the one who is more brainwashed by what you posted which suggests there's a plank in my eye and "specks" in the eyes of the people I'm trying to help. How do you not see that as condescending? They are the brainwashed ones, they are the ones with planks in their eyes. I'm the one trying to help, and I'm not saying I'm perfect or all knowing, but.. In this case, they are the ones with planks in their eyes, not "specks", they are more blind in this specific case I'm referring to. And if they are not, then I'm not referring to them. I'm referring to the brainwashed people. If you're suggesting I'm more brainwashed and I need to figure that out first before I can help the ones who are "less" brainwashed, then I just don't understand and yes I think that is condescending. But hey.. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, maybe I read that ancient quote wrong, maybe you didn't mean it like that.
Isn't that condescending?
Yes it is. I'm not denying that I can be condescending. Though you seem to be denying you were being such, and now you're obfuscating and misdirecting away to something else.
If you're going to be condescending against me, maybe I won't respond in this manner if I think you're being fair or honest or honorable in your judgements.
I think my point is made.
I am not going to argue with you. But take this advice from people much wiser than myself, like Jesus: If you want to change the world, you have to change yourself first.
I think only you know what the point that was made is. Cause I definitely don't get the point you were making.
We all change the world all the time just by being here. I don't so much want to change the world, I want to help people and animals and sometimes that requires being honest and saying tough things when people earn it by their choices.
And you cite Jesus, whether he truly existed or not he was no stranger to strong language. So..To berate me for doing what Jesus did and then telling me to be more like Jesus, is.. A bit contradictory.
“You blind fools!” he shouts during a chapter-long rant (Matthew 23:17). He calls them hypocrites, snakes and vipers, everything — as the saying goes — but a child of God. We all know that insulting people is incompatible with Christian teaching. But Jesus actually did it quite a bit."
