I know it sucks to get wallet spam, but did you give @digitalplayer a warning before flagging him?

I've removed my flag for now. To me, this is clearly something people should know better by asking a simple question: If everyone did this, would the platform benefit or would it be worse for everyone? Would they want their wallets filled up with people trying to get their attention?

There have been plenty of warnings, post after post, about how this community feels about spam. It should not be tolerated.

Plenty of warnings ? I am sorry but for who? It's first time I got to see similar things about wallet spam and btw I guarantee i will take it into consideration.

Hope it makes sense for everybody I am not a spammer and I am blogging steem for love not easy money schemes.

thank you for your time reading this

Keep following my blog if you love knowledge

How do you define spam?

Here's what google says:

noun:

irrelevant or inappropriate messages sent on the Internet to a large number of recipients.

verb:

send the same message indiscriminately to (large numbers of recipients) on the Internet.

There have been many posts about spam here. I'm sorry if you haven't seen them. Whether or not you were given proper warning isn't as relevant as what you personally were okay with doing (sending messages to people who didn't request them). This is not okay.

You may not consider yourself a spammer but you participated in spamming people. I hope you will no longer do so.

I am not sure I am one person that do what you quoted.

What you call wallet spam it's in fact paid advertising since I spent money (steem dollars) to send it over. If you want to have your wallet with no tips and memos why do you allow your wallet to process small amounts of money ? Also even if small amount is hard earned, isn't it? So I don't have the right to send tips on strangers wallets because you flag the article? my article is fruit of hard work. Shouldn't I have the right to mention it in any tip memo ?

Sending money to the wallet it's not what people and dictionary tell is spam is what you want to believe.

Btw but can you please send me back the 1$ I sent you the message with ?!

I am not sure I am one person that do what you quoted.

I didn't say you were. It doesn't matter how many people spam. It's still spam.

Do you think spam advertisers don't also spend money? The amount of money you spend sending spam doesn't change if it's spam or not.

why do you allow your wallet to process small amounts of money

Memos can be used for legitimate message sending purposes. What you did is still spam.

Sending tips to strangers is not what you did. One tenth of penny is not a tip, it's the lowest possible amount you can send via this system. It's essentially worthless to the person receiving it. What you sent are spam messages. The fact that you're still trying to justify your action makes me think I was correct in flagging you, and I should not have removed my flag. You seem to think your actions were justified. If a flag is the only way you'll understand differently, then I will reapply my flag.

Do you think it's right to use 72 rank account to flag any article because of wallet memo? I do it for 100 times only spending 4 hours ... but the red flag weight you have it's huge if 72 reputation. Big power great responsability I am not sure I will support your account as witness since you flagged a good article without any warning before.

And It looks like you are still deal with me as a spammer.

I will not tell you how hard it is for people who have 1$ dollar in the pocket to even spend 10 cents, you probably know it by experience or maybe not.

If people think 0.001 it's not a Tip well I am wrong and I apologise for the disturb. I will stop sharing my knowledge with people that don't appreciate it, it's that simple, there's no reason for people with huge value like me to invest time in a platform where my content gets hidden by a flag like it happened with yours before.

Why not go after the dolphins who do this like @surpassinggoogle, because they are the ones setting this example for our newcomers?

I don't discriminate. If I get wallet spam, I engage with it and flag which I feel is my reposibility as a witness (along with all of us). If we tolerate this behavior (or worse, reward it), it will only continue. I haven't received spam from that account yet, but if I do, I'd respond the same.

? Wallet spam ??? Your flag just hidden the post from the blog.. over 5 people posted meaningful comments... Please reconsider the weight of your judgement

I'm so sick of people abusing this platform for their own selfish reasons without considering the interests of the community. There's a difference between "promoting" your content and spamming peoples' wallets. This is obvious and shouldn't have to be explained, but I've written a post which may help you if you're confused.

People posting meaningful comments doesn't justify your actions. You are spamming people. For you to not understand this is quite concerning, especially when you say you work with @steamcleaners. If a flag is all you'll respond to, that's what I'll do. Don't spam people again.

I've removed my flag. Do not spam people via comments or their wallet. This is unacceptable behavior, and it should not be tolerated by anyone who cares about this platform.

In addition, giving out rewards if people resteem and upvote your post is called vote buying, and it's a practice which has been flagged here for over a year.

Luke, for topics like the one I am into, phylosophy, heavy and time consuming, I think people need a reward and so the reason of the prize.

I will cancel the resteem and upvote rule to prove you and the community what I am blogging for : love for knowledge.

I can notice your red flag reconsideration, thank you for it.

Best regards

Please don't spam again. We have to protect this network. If you want to reward people, buy Steem Power and up vote the comments you feel are valuable.

I just removed the incentive for resteem, but the reward for the best comment it's still there. You deal with me as a spammer ... i hope you will notice soon I am just a fair blogger. Regards

I deal with actions. You spammed. I'm not sure why that's confusing? I'm glad you're not a spammer. I'm disappointed you didn't think what you were doing was spamming. I have no interest in following a blogger who thinks mass sending of messages through the wallet is acceptable behavior.
