I pointed out that there are no black and whites. Mentoring is different and rarely works since it is a strategy that has already been applied. This is also the reason why self-help books and seminars to millions of people don't make much of a difference. Same tricks, when applied from a large group of people stop being tricks.

Culture plays indeed a massive role to this. I think most people fail because they try to satisfy other people instead of seeing the larger picture.
