When you mentioned the flea experiment the one with the monkeys, the banana and the latter came to my mind - and they always show us right in front of our eyes what is happening to us - Well, us minus "oddballs" like you and me and some (hopefully many and more) others... Another picture that came to my mind while reading through your post was, that in the past most daily work was done while singing ;-) I restarted this wise habbit in most of my "Tagwerk" (feels like this might be one of the tools for reprogramming the important things back in) and the younger kids love joining in (my two older ones are rolling their eyes - but who knows, maybe once in a while they will start singing or at least humming a little bit in all they do)... cheers from the seven mountains in Germany

Besides my singing voice, I think it is a good idea :)
Perhaps it is because it creates an emotional connection of some kind with the work or perhaps that the singing takes the mind of the boredom or repetition? I think if we look back a bit further, hobbies themselves were things like knitting and tool making activities that facilitated work life rather than avoided it.
