TO BE LIKED OR TO BE RESPECTED

Have you ever seen a young girl, probably on her early high school years, dressing up like an adult, posing in camera as if she’s a model of a sexy magazine, and posting a dance video that provokes lust? They are seemingly happy about what they are doing because it gives them popularity. The feeling of being likable gives pleasure until it brainwashes them. This kind of fame can blind a person’s way of thinking. To get a huge number of people that will hit those thumbs up are their priority more than anything else.

It is hard to see when someone is disgracing a woman but it is even harder to accept that she is doing it to herself. How will they respect us if we are not respecting ourselves in the first place?

I have nothing against showing some skin because fashion is another way of expressing ourselves. If you are on a beach, you will surely be on your swimwear since it is the appropriate attire for swimming. If you are partying in a club, you can wear a bit of heavy makeup. If its summer and the weather are too hot, you can always go with sleeveless. If you are someone who’s proud of how physically fit you are, there’s nothing wrong to wear some crop top to reveal your abs.

Everybody can be a fashion icon without having the need of sacrificing your values. You can always be beautiful in every way that you want, but be pretty with a high dignity.

Before doing anything, ask yourself first if this is the image that you want your children and grandchildren to remember you? Outside appearance fades easily as we get older while good personality remains in the memories of many. Do you want to know a secret? A man will always appreciate beauty but at the end of the day, he will choose a woman worthy to bear his own flesh. A wife that he can be proud to introduce in his entire relatives, knowing that she is a woman with respectable traits.

Same as with women, we are also looking for a man worthy of our love. We don’t need a handsome guy with a habit of collecting girls as his trophies; we want a firm but gentleman with a faithful heart.

People will tend to like you if you are doing the things that they want you to do and will dislike you immediately if you are doing the contrary. For an instance, a bully will like you if you are following his orders but once you refused, he will be very mad. It shows that not everyone who likes you, respect you. A true strength is needed to gain respect from other people. It doesn’t happen in an overnight sleep, you must prove yourself. To earn respect means that you are willing to stand with what you believe is right and live with it even though many will oppose you.

Yes, popularity and fame are fantastic but respect tastes better than attention. Have you tasted it?
