RE: I'm only happy when...

in #philosophy6 years ago

I try and be but I’m not really most of the time. I try and not to think about it to much. Lots of grinding and things to do. Reflection time just get in my way and eats up time I could be using elsewhere.

Instead I try and take some joy in the small things in life. I’ve been growing a small garden for a while now and it is the third happiest thing in my life right now. I enjoy going out almost daily and watering the plants and seeing how much things grow even over a single night.

It reminds me daily care of something can grow into more then you could ever expected. My red pepper plant has over 10 peppers on it right now. No ideas what I'm going do with that many. I was just hoping for 3-4 at a time.

Indeed it does. If you are doing what you are meant to be doing, what is there to reflect upon?

Eat them. Stuff them with rice and in the oven :)

Sometimes I think I’m a little to business minded when it comes to when it’s time to reflect as well. It’s usually “things are going ok but what can I be doing to do better?” Even then it’s more like quarterly or yearly for longer term things.

Then it comes down to is a 5% increase in quality worth 20% increase in effort or time.

A few of them will be stuffed for sure. They are Italian sweet peppers so I’ll have to see how that goes. Not quite as big as you would like for stuffing. Might do something with cheese and diced Jalapenos.

This morning some of the branches on it broke from winds last night. So I have 5 of them not quite ready. They are just green instead of red. They still smell great!

Might just cut them up for shish kabobs as well. So many options!

For me, when people ask how things are I say, "all good" no matter how terrible they may be.

This sounds pretty awesome :)
