It is a kanji that means a "friend". What is a friend? I had a lot of thoughts in writing this letter. Do you call someone a friend who spend your free time together? Or is it a friend to help you when you have a hard time?

In the end, I wrote this letter without giving a definition of the word friend. After writing, I stared at this kanji for a long time and fell into the swamp of deep thought once more. This letter is made up of two kanji, meaning the hand. Does anyone who can hold my hands mean a friend? If I could hold someone's hand, would he be my friend?

We reach out to confirm that we want to be together. Or we ask for a touch of help even when we are in trouble. If I could hold his hand in this situation, would he become a friend? If you can not help him, you are not qualified as a friend?

When my head hurts because of many questions, I thought of my best friend who sincerely shares my joy and sorrow, who understands my words and actions. Eureka. A friend does not have to hold two hands together.

If the two letters are too far away, the Chinese character becomes meaningless, and if they are too close, the Chinese character is destroyed. As such, friends should be always standing next to each other while maintaining a reasonable distance, like two letters.

It is often mistaken for a word "best friend" to know everything about the your friend. Someone seems to try to interfere and advise all of someone's best friend. But it is not a true friend. In any situation, standing at my side always on the right distance. Tonight, I think about the meaning of a friend again.
