I think it's easy enough to have beliefs based on our observations of our parents and teachers or consequences of not doing what we're told or what we are led to believe is a requirement to exist. Society forces all sorts of beliefs on people that they never would have thought up on their own. I suppose it's all a matter of perspective as to how necessary some of those beliefs are to propogate. Probably the biggest one is that money is necessary. If society didn't exist and we were living off the land, trading tokens of exchange would probably be the last thing on our minds, but nevertheless society adopts them, so we grow up knowing no other way.
