Minor nit pick: the revolving door of moral commentary on Muslims in our news media doesn't necessarily mean that the news is an unreliable source of information, simply that it is a bad source of moral commentary. The media's goal is simple: keep you listening or watching. It is not in their interest to have a complex discussion about the morality of people half a world away, because most of us would tune out. As long as you take news for what it is - an imperfect but reasonable reporting of fact with any associated value judgement being bs - then you're fine.

I still don't trust the news. Every station has a slant. But I guess that everybody has a slant. It is very hard to be completely impartial. You make a good point, perhaps ignoring the judgement would make watching it more bearable.
