Poet's note on Inside the wounded lair: Part 2
(Part 1 can be found here)
In whatever scenario arises, how much we love on those around us through our words, thoughts, and deeds will determine the quality of relationships we have. That is to say our words and deeds (choices we make) directly affect the quality of our relationships, and our thoughts are catalysts to our words and actions.
The more we love on our partner in the ways we want to be loved, the more love we will often receive. Not only does feeling loved make it easier for our partners to act lovingly in return, but loving actions/words attract more good and loving things to us (if you have any thoughts on karma, law of attraction, or an after life).
These are concepts emphasized in The 5 love languages, the Secret, and other popular works. And they're an important lessons, especially when differences lead one partner or the other to not be getting all of what they want because news flash, no person will ever give you everything you want.
"You can be denied only because you are in a certain illusory state of believing that this is half a life and it needs another half from somewhere. No, this is a complete life. If you blossom as a complete life you will see that relationships will be of a completely different nature. It will be more of coming together and sharing, not of extracting." -Sadghuru (link to video below)
The only person you have 100% control over is yourself and at the end of the day... YOU are responsible for your own happiness, not others.
When you're in the den of the beast fighting with your partner and tensions and defenses are high remember this:
the only thing you can control in this scenario is you and more love will not only rarely hurt the scenario, it will often help.
