Advocacy: A stand for Lumads

MINDANAO is known as the land of promise because of its rich biodiversity and natural resources. The land holds an incredible wealth from nature, but also has dark moments of truth. Large mining companies and corporations consume the “Land of Promise” leaving no rights for the Lumad groups to stay and live peacefully in Mindanao. It’s really heartbreaking to know that the Lumads are being killed and threatened. They became slaves of their own land. Their culture is slowly fading away. They have been traumatized by their experiences of killings and attacks. One day, we will realize how naïve we are with our surroundings. We should not let desires blind us from the truth, the truth behind the Lumads. Let them live the way they are supposed to be!!! Lumads may have no power against these big corporations but we can be their power to spread the information.

What do you suggest that we should do? We at @steemph.iligan can help :)

You don't say. :) Birds of the same feather flock together. It's nice to know someone having an advocacy like this. This is me 3 years back (2015) and still trying to pull my resources to come up with a good project with the Lumad. Thanks to steemit, I can use the SBDs for it. I did a short podcast on what projects that I am going to do with steemit for this year : a writing project that attempts to document their plight and their struggles amdist military harassment and captialist-sponsored land grabbing.
