The Chinese New year is celebrated on the first day of the First Moon of the lunar calendar. This is one place here in Cebu that you can go to a Chinese temple. Its awesome and its free of charge. You could go here with your friend but be sure to rent a cab or you have your own cause transportation there will ask you a higher fee.
Though here in the Philippines we dont really celebrate it but because the increasing of Chinese people here we have one day holiday.The corresponding date in the solar calendar varies from as early as January 21st to as late as February 19th. Chinese New Year, as the Western new Year, signified turning over a new leaf.
Socially, it was a time for family reunions, and for visiting friends and relatives. This holiday, more than any other Chinese holiday, stressed the importance of family ties. The Chinese New year’s Eve dinner gathering was among the most important family occasions of the year.
But What i really want from this event is ; HOLIDAY. So it means that no work, no school and you could go and hangout with your friends.
