For the Filipinos, I guess most of us are familiar with the place named Limasawa Island. It was discussed in our Makabayan class way back elementary days.
Limasawa Island is located at Southern Leyte, Philippines. It is believed that this place is where the Portuguese navigator namely Ferdinand Magellan landed and held the first mass in the Philippines.
It is forseen as the next "Boracay Island" in Visayas with the support of the Provincial government, Department of Tourism and other agencies.
It is said that it attracts tourists because of its religious background and it gives the tourists the experience of having been in a place where a famous individual landed and a historical event was held and of course it also attracts tourists because of its beauty and the things it offer.
The island has white sand beaches, trails, landscapes, crystal clear blue water and a lot of fish sanctuaries.
It offers a lot of activities like hiking, camping, snorkeling, and scuba diving. The island doesn't have only white sand beaches but it also have beautiful caves. Food shops are scarce in the place so better bring your own food. Electricity has schedule so you have to fully charge your gadgets within the period.
In going to the island, you need to ride a boat for an hour for 50php per head. After that, you can enjoy the island and discover the things that it offers!
