Axolotl Throttle

in #pets7 years ago (edited)

"What the heck is an axolotl?", some of you may be asking. Or, my personal favorite, "It looks liek a Mudkip!" [insert pokémon reference here]. Axolotls are extinct in the wild but thanks to the hard work of breeders in the UK, US, and Mexico, they are thriving in captivity. I have 4 myself! In the picture, I'm showing you Mork and Zorg, the parent generation, taking a black tea bath shortly after acquiring them in a rescue situation:

Axolotls don't do much...except that they are able to regenerate whole limbs - yes, that's tendons and ligaments too! They are used in biology labs across the world for purposes relating to this unique trait.

They also vacuum suck giant worms into their razor-laden mouth!

sidenote only the first picture is mine on this post, the rest are gathered from a wonderful website that is all things axolotl.* www.axolotl.org

Boy, but they sure are cute tho! And full of smiles :D
