[OC] Psychedelics and Healing this world [Part. 1 - What are Psychedelics?]

I would like to share a little bit about my shamanic perspective on the use of tradional sacred medicine. For that we will first have to take a look at what these are:

Psychedelics and Entheogens.

Entheogens is a word that describes all traditional, natural psychedelica. These have been used since the very dawn of humanity. There are 3 common Master Plant Teachers:

• Ayahuasca (DMT + Maoi - B. Caapi or Syrian rue + M. Hostillis or Acacia Subspecies)
• Magic Mushrooms (Psilocin + Psiloscibyn - Psilocybe, Azurescensis, ... )
• Hauchuma (Mescaline - San Pedro, Peruvian Torch, ... )

In traditional societies it is a strong conviction that these kinds of plants are the most ephemeral substance in this material world, the thing that is closest to spirit, given to us by el grande spiritus. This explains why they used to have such rigorous standards in dealing with these substances. It is seen as the most powerful tool that was given to us. This goes to such lengths that most westerners cannot even begin to imagine the actual scope of the amount of respect and utter importance that was given to this divine medicine. This is because in our world, we don't have truly sacred things any more.

Lets take a closer look at where the words psychedelic and entheogen come from:
Psyche : The Sense of self, consciousness - Delics : Revealing
The psychedelic is a concept the name of which is derived from the Ancient Greek words psychē (ψυχή, "soul") and dēloun (δηλοῦν, "to make visible, to reveal"), translating to "mind-revealing". - wiki
Entheo : The divine, God - Gen: Generating
If we look at the Greek language we see θεός (theos) together with the English gen definition, a combining form meaning “that which produces,” now we can see the true meaning of the word entheogen:

'Generating the divine within'.

The reason I feel like this information needs to be spread is because we are living in a new era of enlightenment. The time is ripe for everyone to become aware of their inner Buddha. The reason i dedicated most of this post to the semantics behind the words Entheogens and Psychedelica is because i believe our personal evolution is very intimately linked to our semantic evolution.

By example, if you would say the word 'gum' to a cheerleader she would only think of chewing gum, while a biology graduate will also think of the gum tree and rubber and the gums of our teeth.
