Back to work! (Personal Blog)

in #perosonal4 years ago (edited)
Hello everyone! How has it been? I hope you are all having a great day. This week is about to end and I cannot wait for it to happen.

Anyway, I have a lot of to you all and I hope I still have time. I am trying to finish reading all my reading assignments for work and I was just reminded to update my blog. I want to have a time to paint, or even just sketch but whenever I am home, I am already tired and worn out from the an hour commute from office to home. I know you will forgive me since my excuse is valid. I guess.

But I have thought that not all of the learnings in our office would be made base on the mandates and statutes set forth by our Department, but rather through experiences and wisdom from those who are above me. Of course, I needed to be trained. So yeah, I will spare some of my time and battery juice of my phone in writing a blog.

Oh! This is the only selfie I had on my first day of work and after our oath of office. 😊

And this one was a photo I took from our Department's Facebook Page. It was really heartwarming that after a year, I finally got the job I was praying for. I think this is evident for almost everyone who has lost their jobs/careers or chance to have a job/ career because of the pandemic.

Honestly, I cried after I was notified that I got hired by the Department. I took an examination together with 100 plus applicants, an interview, and then an aptitude examination as the final part of the application. It was tiring and bothersome because I got a little anxious of the though that I might contract the virus from an applicant.

Anyhow, I felt so blessed because my brother was also hired but apparently, he was told that he would be assigned to another region. It was like a roller coaster ride that I even cried during a conference about the said issue.

In line with my coworkers, I felt thrilled with their heartwarming welcome to us. In our division, they hired three new members, which includes me on the list. I haven't met everyone in the office though because some were quarantined. Well, they were not positive but just to be sure, they followed the protocol from the LGU of Cagayan de Oro City.

A New Tab!
Anyway, few days after working in the government, my boyfriend Amiel gifted me something that would be deemed essential for my job, a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 plus. I cannot say it is totally gifted but he said I can pay in kind any time I want to, and then he made mention of RTX something something. I forgot. Haha!

I thought he was just kidding when he told me he will buy me one. And I thought he was just teasing me when we checked the Samsung Store inside Limketkai Mall.

I will write a blog about its performance and how efficient it is for me for work. I hope I get to finish it on Saturday so that I could have another blog update. 😀

There were also a lot of birthdays but I got so tired working and processing my documents so I totally forgot to write about it.

One of my concerns is the rapid increase of cases in my city, Cagayan de Oro City. Being in an institution that provides frontline services to my fellow countrymen has always been my dream after working under Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office 10. But right now, in the middle of this pandemic, my emotions are all mixed up. I guess I mentioned a moment ago some of the things I felt during the process of application and hiring.

Well, I always say this but I just hope this pandemic would end soon. I really want our normal lives to be back so that we could all function normally.

Love,
Gail
