There's this saying here: "No sword would cut down a bowed head."

That comes from the mentality of 500 years of Ottoman rule here (that followed on the heels of 300 years of Byzantine rule but hey, we're still alive and kicking!)

But my point is that dominion over people comes from letting them come to the idea that being oppressed is a good thing for you.

It stems from all different directions. Herbal remedies killed a woman. Free play kid run over a car. Home grown food man poisoned. I mean, those are all tragedies but no one would utter a word on the fast food global tragedy that kills more people than the 'rona yearly...
