Rice is not healthy - they turn into sugar readily and is harmful to diabetics.
I used to eat rice and often fried rice, during lunch, and became very sleepy back at my office. I now know why. I now stay away from rice as much as I can - it is not healthy!
These are not healthy:
- sugar (substitute with fruits with low glycemic index)
- table salt - sodium (substitute with sea salt or just skip)
- white bread (multi-grain bread or skip)
- potatoes (substitute with sweet-potato / yam or with cauli-flower for "mashed potato")
- rice (substitute with quinoa or multi-grain rice)
Dude, rice and potatoes are resistant starches. They're better for diabetics as they help keep insulin in check.
