We need to change the misunderstanding that implies that the most extravagant ones are the most intelligent. There are many ways to participate. A child who does not speak in a large group may feel more comfortable in a smaller group. Divide the class into small groups and create low-risk environments where you can have a chance to talk to quiet students. Or give you the option to speak your thoughts instead of talking. There are many ways to meet the needs of silent, withdrawn children without imposing outward norms.

From kindergarten teachers to university teachers; I'm begging you all: don't forget, ignore or try to change your inward-looking students. I know you have the hardest, most valuable-unknown job in the world. And I know there's not enough time to grow everything in the day.
But look at the silent students in your class, and don't spare them the time you spend on others. Teach them to embrace the person they are, and above all, don't try to change them. Participation is much more than speaking. Talking is to pay attention, to complete homework and classroom tasks, to be punctual, to prepare for the course. And working with other students in class means helping them.

Most importantly, appreciate your introverted students. Recognize and express your strengths. Don't let them grow by thinking they should change or think it's better to be like extravagant friends. Indoors are strong, independent leaders of our future. Celebrate them.
